ZenOut is designed with simplicity and privacy at its core. This policy explains how the app handles your information, which is to say, it doesn't.
No Data Collected
ZenOut does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on any server. There are no user accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no advertising identifiers, and no third-party SDKs that gather data about you.
Everything Stays on Your Device
All preferences, saved quotes, lecture bookmarks, and session history are stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage (UserDefaults and an App Group container shared with the home screen widget). This data never leaves your device and is never shared with anyone. Uninstalling the app permanently removes all of it.
Apple Health (HealthKit)
If you choose to allow it, ZenOut writes completed meditation sessions to Apple Health as Mindful Minutes. ZenOut does not read any other information from Apple Health. All HealthKit data is stored and controlled by Apple on your device, subject to your Apple Health privacy settings. You can revoke this permission at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Health › ZenOut.
Free to Use
ZenOut is free. There are no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, and no monetization of your data in any form.
Audio and Video Content
All media content (ambient videos, music, and public-domain lectures) is bundled inside the app itself. No streaming or network requests are made during normal use.
Children
ZenOut is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA)
Because ZenOut does not collect or transmit any personal data off your device, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete on your behalf. You may delete all local data at any time by removing the app from your device.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date. Given the nature of the app, we do not anticipate meaningful changes.

Common Questions
Does audio keep playing when I lock my phone? Yes. ZenOut is registered as a background-audio app, so nature sounds, music, and lectures continue through your screen lock.
Where did the lectures come from? All included lectures are public-domain texts (the Tao Te Ching, Bhagavad Gita, the four Gospels, Siddhartha, Meditations) narrated and bundled in the app.
How do I save a quote or a moment in a lecture? Long-press anywhere during a session. You can review saved items from the home screen.
How do I remove ZenOut's entry in Apple Health? Open Settings › Privacy & Security › Health › ZenOut and disable Mindful Minutes. You can also delete past entries from the Health app directly.
